While it’s true that floral dresses are the definition of my comfort zone, nude and white accessories are far from it. The last white handbag I owned was from Gwen Stefani’s inaugural L.A.M.B. collaboration with LeSportsac and within a few wears, the dye from my denim had transferred all over the back of the bag. That bag, like this Ted Baker Verina bag, has sentimental memories attached that I just can’t let go of. I know Marie Kondo wouldn’t approve, but I am who I am who I am.
This NY Collection dress (via Gwynnie Bee) has all of the style elements that I look for in a summer dress: a flowing hemline that sways in the breeze, defined waistline, bold color and/or print, and a feminine silhouette. The purple flower center among the ivory petals is an unexpected and fun color combination. When it comes to comfortable clothing in the oppressive southern heat & humidity, it doesn’t take much to make me happy.
I wish that I could promise that this was my last floral look of the season, but I have a floral kimono (also from Gwynnie Bee) that will be making an appearance in the coming days. Besides, lush fall florals and gothic romantic prints are totally my jam.
I’m already thinking about the pieces that I’ll be wearing this in the cooler months and putting a post together to share with you soon, so if there are any trends that you’ve got your eye on, please share them in the comments below!
