Whenever I do a full red hair refresh, it always takes me a couple of days to get my brow color match j-u-s-t right. Typically, I’ll text my friend and makeup artist Audrey Lea Curry for a recommendation, but a rediscovery of the It Cosmetics Brow Power Super Skinny in Universal Auburn brow pencil gave me a whole new perspective. I’ve changed shades of red hair enough to know that even the slightest tonal shift can make a huge difference, which is why I feel qualified to say that I’ve found the best brow products for redheads.
Recently, I had the chance to try Maybelline’s revamped assortment of eyebrow products and I’m so impressed. Before coloring, I was using Soft Brown, but now I’ve switched to using Auburn. I’ve never been particularly fond of brow powders, but the powders in both the Brow Drama Pro Palette & the Brow Define & Fill are excellent. I have sparse brows, so even the slightest touch of powder can make a big difference.
Of the three products I’ve tried, I prefer the Brow Precise Micro Pencil, but I mix it with the two eyebrow products mentioned above for different effects. I’m on the edge of my seat for the Brow Precise Fiber Volumizer eyebrow gel to become available in Auburn in January. I hadn’t had any luck at the drugstore finding shades to complement my red hair in the past, so this discovery makes it one of my favorites of the year!
As I mentioned above, the It Cosmetics Brow Power Super Skinny in Universal Auburn is my favorite brow pencil to use while my red hair color is still vibrant. It’s the lightest in tone and also gives me the most natural results. It’s what I’m wearing in the first photo of this post and the product that I reach for when I want a look that is both polished and soft. To put it simply, it’s gorgeous.
The Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Chocolate is the first product that Audrey recommended to me and the brow pencil on this list that I’ve repurchased the most. It’s also the darkest in tone and the ideal eyebrow product to use as my roots grow in. If you’re darker auburn than I am, Chocolate is a shade worth checking out. Eyebrow trends come & go, but in my opinion, the Brow Wiauburnz is still the most consistently reliable product you can use.
