If you haven’t seen the utterly charming The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, a new scripted series from Amy Sherman Palladino (of Gilmore Girls fame) on Amazon, please stop everything you’re doing and start watching it immediately. I’m serious. This post will be here waiting to help you create your dream closet as soon as you’ve binged all eight episodes and you emerge from the sassy, snappy fantasy. I could write several posts about Midge Maisel’s wardrobe (and in fact, I just might). The entire aesthetic of her 1950s New York experience makes me swoon, including her ridiculous beauty routine after her husband falls asleep and her lingerie-clad drunk meltdowns. But it’s her outerwear that is the most captivating, a seemingly endless supply of statement coats and jackets that practically punctuates every episode.
