From the moment I tried this eShakti dress on, I felt like a princess, but fit & flare dresses always have that effect on me. I put my hands into the pockets (yes, that’s right, pockets) and twirled around the living room, swinging the skirt to and fro. I then immediately ran to my storage unit to find the blush Report pumps I’d been neglecting during my utilitarian NYC years.
Sadly, when it came time to photograph this look, I clumsily knocked over my DSLR & trusty fixed 50mm lens that helps to get the dreamy look every fashion blogger strives for.
If you need me, I’ll be sobbing in the corner because I just broke my fixed 50mm lens and I don’t have the money to replace it.

Needless to say, I was in the midst of self-loathing when one of you lovelies kindly offered to send me a spare 50mm lens that you just so happened to have around. To say that I am grateful would be an understatement. We tried to shoot this look to the best of our abilities, but sadly my 18-50 zoom lens just doesn’t have quite the same quality. Until a replacement arrives, I’ll be trying my best to continue to shoot looks, so please be patient with me.
I was shocked by how much I enjoyed strutting around in these heels during the shoot. One of the benefits of living outside of a major metro area is how much less concerned you become about the long-range comfort of your shoes. I used to have to walk miles a day, especially when I had frequent doctor’s appointments, and then go to events in the evening, leaving me restricted to wearing sneakers most days. Here in Arkansas, I can wear some of my favorite shoes that couldn’t keep up with the demands of commuter living. It’s downright delightful!
I couldn’t find this dress or any other hot air balloon print items on eShakti’s site, so if you’re interested in feeling as light on your feet as I did in this dress, you’ll have to add it to your Gwynnie Bee closet. If you’re not a member, you can get 30 days free + $10 credit for giving it a try. They have added more items in sizes 30 & 32, as well as adding items starting at size 0. I still haven’t sent this dress or the floral dress I wore last week back because I can’t stop wearing them. They feel so perfect for the weather we’re having and the ability to select items for a trend, event, or season switch is a huge part of the appeal for me. See all the looks I’ve worn from Gwynnie Bee here.
