Smashbox Always On Liquid Lipstick in Bawse

A red lipstick review? Tell me you aren’t surprised.

Although it could be said that I believe all lipsticks, especially the red ones, are special, this one is extra super special. It’s a collaboration between Smashbox and one of my favorite YouTubers, Lilly Singh. You may have seen her on billboards around NYC and LA alongside the characters she’s best known for playing – her parents. Her comedy videos have amassed her over 9 million subscribers, but it’s her vlogs that have me coming back every day. Her work ethic is incredible & inspiring.

I’ve even tweeted her before asking which shade of red lipstick she was wearing, which I now suspect was her custom shade of Smashbox Always On Liquid Lipstick, Bawse. The color is based on Lilly’s signature shade, perfected in the new Smashbox Always On Liquid Lipstick formula. It’s no secret that I’m a liquid lipstick lover, as are so many of us these days, but the Smashbox formula is among my favorite. It has a mousse texture, similar to the Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick or Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick formula, but a bit more fluid.

Smashbox Always On Liquid Lipstick in Bawse

At a luncheon celebrating the collaboration, everyone who attended applied Bawse the moment they sat down. It was thrilling to see so many women of different skin tones & ages wearing a shade that looked uniquely incredible. On some people, it looks like a brighter, truer red, while on others it appears more berry. If you’re looking for a great long-wearing alternative to MAC’s Ruby Woo, Bawse just might be it!
