A $330 Moisturizer That Makes You Reconsider Your Life Choices

If you’ve ever wondered where the tears of angels go, the magical wizard scientists at La Prairie have found a way to bottle them. NBD.

When the La Prairie Cellular Swiss Ice Crystal Cream first arrived, my skin was agitated, dry, and inflamed. I washed my face, removed the futuristic jar from the box, and applied half a spatula to my face and neck. The next morning, my skin looked hydrated, plump, and significantly less irritated. I was hooked!

Since that day, I’ve had friends and family stay with me (part of living in NYC) and I’ve insisted that each of them give this moisturizer a try. The next morning they all look at me the exact same way – the personification of the heart eyes emoji.

I’ve never used a moisturizer that provided such instant results and then continued to improve my skin with each use. When I didn’t use it morning and night, I’d start to see the redness and uneven texture to return to my cheeks. My skin was also less hydrated, even though I used every trick in the book to boost my skin’s moisture. What makes this formula so special?

Turns out that the La Prairie magical wizards scientists discovered plants and algae sourced from the extreme conditions on the tops of the Swiss Alps that I now refer to as “angel tears”. Because they thrive in such harsh conditions, they contain properties that allow them to adapt to the extremes of our lives – think pollution, dehydration, and wind burn to name a few. To accompany the cream, there’s also a Cellular Swiss Ice Crystal Dry Oil (a sample is included with the cream), a Cellular Swiss Ice Crystal Eye Cream, and a Cellular Swiss Ice Crystal Emulsion. Trust me, if the eye cream is anything like the moisturizer, I’m gonna be all over that, too.
