The One & Only Lipstick To Make You Feel Like A Legendary Queen

No other lipstick shade is more firmly within my comfort zone than a bold, opaque red. Women’s magazines have perpetuated the mythological quest for a perfect singular color, but I believe that we can (and should) have many red lipstick loves in our lives. I am passionately in love with my new companion, the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Legendary Queen.

A signature of Charlotte Tilbury’s shades is how flattering they are and Legendary Queen is no exception. Instead of falling into the category of a classic blue-red or warm red, Legendary Queen is a warm wine that feels perfect for fall & winter. It doesn’t have the harshness or vibrancy of Pat McGrath’s Obsessed! or NARS Audacious in Carmen, but what makes it so special is that it’s more of a muted red, which makes it a perfect entry shade for those afraid of red lipsticks, a subdued daytime red, or the perfect complement to a warm brown smokey eye.

Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Queen Review

The Matte Revolution formula certainly lives up to the hype. It’s reminiscent of the Maybelline Color Sensational Creamy Mattes or the Pat McGrath MatteTrance lipsticks in texture with a silicone-heavy slip, but the Charlotte Tilbury formula feels much thinner. It was comfortable to wear all day and doesn’t dry out my lips, which some drugstore versions of this formula tend to do.

If you’re typically afraid of wearing red lipsticks, I highly recommend giving Legendary Queen a chance to ease you into the color. Although technically the shade would be considered a red, I find it to be far more neutral-leaning than any of my other red shades and therefore much easier to wear.

Bitch Perfect was my first Charlotte Tilbury lipstick, followed by Penelope Pink, both warm-toned nudes from her K.I.S.S.I.N.G lipstick range. Inside a care package from my dear friend Briony was Legendary Queen, along with the ultra-coveted Cheek To Chic blush in Pillow Talk.

I received the corresponding Lip Cheat, Walk of Shame, from an influencer marketing agency, and although I don’t necessarily feel that the Matte Revolution formula needs a liner. That being said, Walk of Shame matches Legendary Queen perfectly.
